Every day passes with no startling sound
But during the night, longing feels newly-found
I bring you into this world to help me feel, I once said
Now I try to drive you out, for you make my body feel heavier than lead
The illusion numbs like novacaine and pulls me in like meth
Though I wish to hate boundless, I know that my love is until death
Life seems surreal when you invisibly touch my skin
But when surreality disappears, it feels like life's never been
So for now leave me with an unspoken lullaby
Serenade in the softest whisper this last goodnight
Because when you leave, against mine and yours' will
Your last song for me is the void to fill
